Which licenses can treat Veterans and families in Colorado?

For telehealth, the license has to match where the client is sitting during the session. To see a client located in Colorado, you need a Colorado license or a valid compact privilege. See Can Therapists See Telehealth Clients in Another State?
Can you practice in Colorado through a compact?
- Counseling Compact: Colorado has enacted the compact but wasn't yet listed as issuing privileges as of October 2026. Until it does, counselors need a Colorado license.
- PSYPACT: Colorado participates, so psychologists with PSYPACT authority can practice telepsychology with clients located there.
- Social Work Licensure Compact: Colorado has enacted it, but the compact isn't issuing multistate licenses yet.
Compact status changes often. See Counseling Compact, PSYPACT, and the Social Work Compact and the Counseling Compact map.

Important limits
- Need isn't a referral guarantee. Volume depends on client eligibility, authorizations, and fit.
- Fully licensed only. Associates and prescribers aren't a fit right now.
- Check the board. License titles and rules can change; the state board is the authority.
